Bread is a food item, baked and sold by the baker. All bread types are worth 20 coins at its lowest price.

Pet Diet[]
For whatever strange reason, some starting pets do not eat bread. Herbivores even more surprisingly do not eat bread. The following only refers to the diet of starting pets:
- Pet cats, eat bread;
- Pet dogs, eat bread;
- Pet spider monkeys, do not eat bread;
- Pet wolves, do not eat bread.
Polymorph[]
- [As of v1.3] Bread can be polymorphed to and from equipment. This can be very useful with the polymorph spell (or wand, to a lesser degree). Each type of bread will consistently change into a different category of equipment, as following:

Tips[]
- Bread does spoil overtime, though at a much slower rate than raw remains;
- For a similar cost, it makes sense to buy bread with the highest calorie value;
- Revive bread by selling it to a shopkeeper, not a baker. Buying it back will be at its regular price, however it will be fresh.
