Death Magic - Level 4
The fireball spell creates a massive ball of fire which flies and explodes at a target location inflicting fire damage to all creatures within the vicinity of the explosion. All non-metal items, including weapon and armour can also burn and potions may be destroyed from boiling if within the area of effect.
Obtained From[]
- Successfully reading a spellbook of fireball.
Spell Forms[]
- Direct casting;
- Activating a firestone:
- Using a staff bound with a firestone;
- Reading or throwing a scroll of fire;
- Zapping or throwing a wand of fire.
Cooking[]
The fireball spell is the primary source to cook food, when raw creature remains (on the ground) are hit by a fire source, it will become cooked. This however, appears to be only limited to meats and innards. Other food items, cannot be cooked: fruits have no effect, eggs will eventually be destroyed from burn damage, and goos will evaporate upon impact. Some creatures killed by a fireball spell may occasionally have their remains cooked, although this is less likely than it is a common occurance.
Cooked meat and innards have a higher calorie value than raw remains. However, it still does spoils and its calorie content is still below pies.
Instant Kill[]
The fireball spell can be used to instantly kill the following creatures, specifically due to their weakness to fire:
Fire Resistance[]
Creatures resistant to the fireball spell may not suffer damage or burn, specifically due to their resistance to fire:
- Balrog;
- Energy Vortex;

Tips[]
- Do not use it at close range, unless the character is fire resistant (e.g. wearing a ring of fire resistance or quaffing a potion of fire proofing) and all equipment have fireproofed.
