The Japanese robe (unidentified as an oriental robe) is only worn by tengus and daitengus. When enchanted, it will modify magic regeneration. It also has a slightly higher armour class than other robes.

- This cloth robe is susceptible to fire and may burn;
- This non-metal robe is susceptible to rot;
- The Japanese robe can be fireproofed by the clothier or by pouring a potion of fireproofing on it;
- Robes can be sold to the clothier or the shopkeeper;
- A +0 Japanese robe will not grant magic regeneration;
- A negative enchantment e.g. -1 Japanese robe, will reduce magic regeneration.
