The kobold shaman small room is perhaps the second dungeon feature that the player may encounter, displaying a double door entrance which leads to a small room. Upon inspection or failing a stealth check when approaching, will trigger the release of several kobold shaman waves. There are a total of 3-4 waves, each wave consisting of 3-4 kobold shamans each. This small room is a good place to instantly increase levels of the character and pet(s), that is if they survive the encounter.
This particular small room is typical more dangerous than other early rooms, due to the magical ability of the kobold shaman of casting the psi bolt bolt when in range.

- Depths of 200-400 feet.
Loot[]
- Will drop 3 random spellbooks;
- Will drop 3 random weapons (including musical instruments);
- Equipment from fallen kobold shamans.
Tips[]
- In the mini-map, a triggered room will immediately turn red, although its inhabitants may then appear a few turns later;
- Pets do not trigger small rooms;
- Jumping past the small room to avoid the trigger sometimes works, more than often does not;
- Levitation can be used to fly over the small room without triggering it;
- Use pets as buffer and support with ranged weapons, wands, or spells, if not a melee character;
- Magical gems may prove valuable to weaken or outright kill exiting creatures. Leave one near or by the door (preferably between the door and the escape route) and then trigger the room;
- Triggering this snall room and standing in front of it (a common strategy with other rooms) is not a recommended tactic as the kobold shaman can almost immediately cast psi bolt at the player/pet, which cannot be avoided;
- After casting the psi bolt spell, a kobold shaman will be immobile for a few turns.
