The orc (formerly hill orc in earlier versions of the game) is the next common enemy, in areas no longer commonly infested by kobolds. Usually found alone, they are sometimes found in groups led by an orc captain with other orcs and/or orc warriors.
Some orcs in the lower levels ride wargs and wield spears.
Location[]
- Depths of 300-1400 feet (on foot);
- Depths of 90-400 meters (on foot);
- Depths of 700 feet (if riding a warg);
- Depths of 3100 feet (if riding a green dragon);
- Gnome Mines.
Loot[]
- Wooden club (always wielded if on foot, -1 to +1 enchantment);
- Orcish helm (always worn if riding a warg or other mounts, -1 to +3 enchantment);
- Spear (always wielded if riding a warg or other mounts, -7 to +2 enchantment);
- Chance to drop an apple;
- Chance to drop a pear;
- Chance to drop a bit of orc innards.
Traits[]
Orcs have been observed to have the following abilities or behaviours:
- Alignment: Neutral;
- Attack: Weapon, melee damage;
- Diet: Omnivore;
- Movement: Normal.
- Will ride mounts.
Equipment[]
A pet orc can equip the same amount of equipment as the player:
- One amulet or collar;
- One set of body armour;
- One cloak;
- One pair of footwear;
- One pair of gloves;
- One helm;
- Two rings;
- One shield;
- One weapon (with or without shield) or two weapons (without shield).
Mounts[]
- In lower levels of the dungeon, some orcs may be found riding adult wargs. These orcs wield a spear instead of a wooden club;
- In the deepest levels of the dungeon some orcs may be found riding green dragons. These orcs also wield a spear.
