The pickaxe is primary used as tool than it is a weapon, as it has the ability to mine gems from boulders in the Gnome Mines (use F key). Around 0-3 pickaxes can usually be found in the Gnome Mines (yes, it is possible to find none). It can also rarely be found in the dungeon or wished for.
Although it has the highest damage bonus against large of all weapons (+100%), it doesn't make a good weapon because of how slow attacks become. It is the slowest weapon in the game, with 50-100% slower attacks than a regular greatsword.
Obtained From[]
- Dungeon (chance to find in chests or lying on the ground);
- Gnome Mines (chance to find lying on the ground).
Blacksmith Appraisal[]
- "A pickaxe is 10% better than a typical dagger, partly because of its slower speed. It is much heavier than a dagger. It is twice as good against larger foes as against others;"
- "A pickaxe is normally 40% less damaging than a typical shortsword, partly because of its slower speed. It is much heavier than a shortsword. It is twice as good against larger foes as against others;"
- "A pickaxe is 55% less damaging than a typical longsword, partly because of its slower speed. It is much heavier than a longsword. However, it is twice as good against larger foes as against others."
Tips[]
- This metal weapon is susceptible to rust;
- This metal weapon will inhibit spellcasting;
- The pickaxe can be rustproofed by the blacksmith;
- Pickaxes can be sold to the blacksmith and the shopkeeper;
- Although rare, there is a chance that no pickaxe can be found in the Gnome mines;
- If no pickaxe is found, a firestone can be used as a substitute to blow up the boulders.
